The founder of mtopo.gr is Theodoros Magdalis, a licensed Rural and Surveying Engineer, graduate of the School of Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), with postgraduate studies in High-Precision Surveying Applications.

Professional Journey

His professional journey began in 2001, during his undergraduate studies, working as a lead surveying assistant in design offices and construction companies such as MESOCHORITIS S.A. and ELKAT ATEVE.

In 2004, he received his diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering from AUTH. The same year, he obtained his professional license to sign and submit private surveying studies.

In 2005, he completed his MSc in High-Precision Surveying Applications at AUTH.

He launched his own technical office, pioneering the use of L1-GPS and later L1/L2 GNSS RTK technology in Halkidiki. He also established the first private CORS GNSS station in Polygyros, which was incorporated into the national URANUS network.

Collaboration with Local Authorities
Obtained his Class A design license from the Ministry of Infrastructure

He obtained his Class A design license from the Ministry of Infrastructure (Categories 10 & 16) and collaborated with local governments for cadastral and road design studies.

Cadastre Engineer for the National Cadastre

His office was selected as the official surveying provider during the cadastral mapping of Polygyros, where he served as the head Cadastre Engineer.

2017
Obtained the EU Drone Pilot Certificate (A1/A3)
Investment in UAV Photogrammetry

He obtained the EU Drone Pilot Certificate (A1/A3) and invested in UAV-based photogrammetric technologies (PPK DJI Phantom 4Pro). He later expanded with the DJI Matrice M300 RTK and DJI P1 45MP camera.

2024
It replaces all traditional topographic surveying methods with aerial scanning.
Investment in ALS Technology

In 2024, the office acquired full ALS (Airborne Laser Scanning) capability with DJI L2, integrating all surveying methods (GNSS, Total Station, UAV) into a single workflow, achieving unprecedented precision and efficiency.

From 2006 to today, the office has conducted hundreds of studies including cadastral diagrams, notarial topographies, legal certifications, permits, valuations, and court expert reports—accumulating vast experience in the field.
Theodoros Magdalis is also listed in the official Court Experts Registry of the Halkidiki Court of First Instance and has prepared dozens of judicial reports on high-value real estate cases.
